What is alloClae?
Throughout your body, structural fat provides natural volume and shape, keeping skin looking firm and contours smooth. As we age, collagen and fat production diminish and that volume is lost. Until recently, the options for replacing it were limited.
alloClae is made from minimally processed, purified fat tissue from screened donors. A proprietary purification process keeps the tissue’s natural 3D honeycomb structure, so it provides structure, support and volume the moment it is placed. It does not contain living cells.
Traditional fat transfer moves your own fat, which means liposuction first and enough spare fat to harvest. alloClae removes that step, which makes it an option for patients with little body fat or anyone who prefers to avoid surgical enhancement.
Where it is used
What can alloClae treat?
alloClae may be applied anywhere fat naturally exists, to reshape your body, replace lost volume and refine areas of concern.
- Body: gluteal projection, minimizing the appearance of hip dips, improving liposuction irregularities, and general body contouring
- Breasts: adding targeted volume, balancing asymmetry, correcting implant rippling or wrinkling, shaping cleavage, and addressing contour irregularities
Who is a good candidate?
Lean patients
If you do not have enough spare fat to harvest, alloClae offers fat-based volume without it.
Avoiding surgery
For those who want contour and volume without liposuction or a surgical procedure to recover from.
Implant concerns
For rippling or wrinkling over a breast implant, or an uneven contour around it.
Refining earlier work
For dents or asymmetry left after liposuction or fat transfer.
How treatment works
Consultation
Dr. Stutman examines the area, discusses your goals and confirms whether alloClae suits you.
Planning
He maps where volume is needed and how much, so the result fits your proportions.
Treatment
In a single in-office visit under local anesthesia, alloClae is placed in the fatty layer under the skin. Most appointments take about an hour.
Follow-up
You go home the same day with aftercare instructions and are seen afterwards to check healing and the contour.
Planned by a plastic surgeon
Adding volume well depends on knowing where it belongs. Dr. Stutman is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and performs liposuction, fat grafting and breast surgery, so he can tell you whether alloClae, your own fat or an implant is the better route to the result you want.
Results and recovery
Results are visible immediately, and most patients have little downtime. Because alloClae contains naturally occurring fat, results can be lasting; how long they last varies with your body and lifestyle, and long-term duration is still being studied.
- For 24–48 hours, avoid vigorous activity and workouts
- Keep the area out of the sun, UV lamps and extreme heat or cold for 24–48 hours, and use sunscreen
- Skip hot baths, hot tubs, saunas and steam rooms for 24–48 hours
- Report any worsening or prolonged discomfort to the office
Dr. Stutman will tell you when to return to strenuous workouts, which can be a few weeks.

Safety
alloClae is regulated by the FDA as a human cell and tissue product (HCT/P) under Section 361, a pathway that does not involve premarket approval. Donors are screened under FDA donor-eligibility rules, including medical and social history and blood testing, and the processed tissue does not contain living cells.
alloClae is intended to be applied subcutaneously in localized areas of the body to provide cushioning and support where adipose tissue naturally exists. It has no systemic effect and is intended for single-patient use only.
Like all procedures of this type there is a possibility of complications, although not everyone experiences them. They include cyst or nodule formation, pain or infection, hematoma, anaphylaxis or other allergic or immune responses, and discoloration of the skin at the procedure site.

alloClae
FAQs
Is alloClae the same as a fat transfer?
Both use fat to add volume, but the source differs. A fat transfer moves your own fat, so it needs liposuction first. alloClae is donated human fat that has been screened, tested and processed, so no fat is taken from your body.
Is alloClae surgery?
No. alloClae is a non-surgical procedure done in the office under local anesthesia. A typical treatment takes around an hour, including the anesthesia, without the incisions of an implant or the harvesting of a fat transfer.
How soon will I see results?
Results are visible immediately. Because alloClae contains naturally occurring fat, results can be lasting, though how long varies with your body and lifestyle, and long-term duration is still being studied.
How much downtime is there?
Most patients have little downtime. Plan to avoid vigorous activity, heat, sun and soaking the area for 24 to 48 hours, and hold off on strenuous workouts until Dr. Stutman clears you, which can be a few weeks.
Is alloClae a filler?
No. alloClae is not a synthetic filler. It is purified human fat tissue that keeps its natural structure, placed where fat already exists in your body.
Will I need more than one treatment?
alloClae is designed as a single in-office procedure. Whether you would benefit from more depends on your goals and Dr. Stutman’s recommendation.
I'm thin. Can I still have fat-based contouring?
Often, yes. Being too lean to harvest enough of your own fat is one of the main reasons patients consider alloClae. Dr. Stutman will confirm whether it suits you at consultation.
Can alloClae help with breast implant rippling?
alloClae can be used to correct implant rippling or wrinkling and to address contour irregularities around an implant. Whether it is the right fix, or whether revision surgery would serve you better, depends on your tissue and implant, which Dr. Stutman assesses in person.
