The Dermal Filler Process Explained

What are the risks of dermal fillers?
Most filler side effects are mild, such as swelling, bruising, tenderness, and redness at the injection sites. Less often, fillers can cause lumps, uneven results, infection, or an allergic reaction. A rare but serious risk is filler blocking a blood vessel, which can damage skin or, very rarely, affect vision. Dr. Stutman reviews these risks with you before treatment.
Can dermal fillers be dissolved?
Hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase, which breaks the gel down. This is used to correct lumps, overfilling, migration, or a result you are unhappy with, and it is also part of treating a blocked blood vessel. Not every filler can be dissolved, so ask which type is being used before treatment.
