Brow Lift

Brow lift surgery is performed to improve low or sagging eyebrows which may give you a tired and aged appearance. Additionally, a browlift can improve frown lines and forehead wrinkles. If you are interested in a browlift in Scottsdale, Dr. Stutman can explain this facial procedure in detail during your initial consultation.

Who Is a Good Candidate for a Brow Lift?

Men and women who are unhappy with drooping eyebrows and forehead/frown lines giving a tired, unalert, and aged facial appearance. Patients who have significant health problems or are active smokers may not be candidates for browlift procedures. Dr. Stutman will review your medical/surgical history at your initial consultation to better evaluate if you are a good candidate for surgery.

The Brow Lift Procedure Explained

Dr. Stutman offers either a traditional (open) or an endoscopic brow lift. In a traditional brow lift, an incision is made either at your hair line or behind your hairline depending on your specific anatomy. An endoscopic brow lift requires several small incisions behind your hairline. At your consultation Dr. Stutman will discuss which incision type is best suited to your anatomy.

On Operation Day

The procedure is performed under general anesthesia at either a surgery center or hospital, depending on your medical history and preference. Incisions are made and the muscles accentuating your frown lines are partially removed, skin is then stretched, and the extra skin removed allowing your eyebrows to elevate. Additional procedures such as blepharoplasty, facelift/neck lift, fat grafting, Botox, and/or Juvéderm may be performed at the time of the initial surgery.

Recovering From a Brow Lift

If your brow lift is performed at a surgery center, you will spend a few hours in recovery before going home. You will need someone to take you home and stay with you for the first few days. Some patients may need to stay overnight in the hospital depending on your medical history and/or preferences. You will experience swelling and bruising over the first 1-2 weeks.

Risks Associated with a Brow Lift

As with any surgery, there is a possibility that you will experience a complication. These include bleeding after the surgery (hematoma), undesirably thick scars, fluid collection beneath the skin (seroma), infection, damage to facial nerves, blood clots, and delayed wound healing. A brow lift requires a general anesthetic, which carries some risk as well.

Dr. Stutman is a professional, kind, and talented plastic surgeon. He treated my double chin with liposuction and did a terrific job. The procedure was painless, and I appreciated that he took the time to explain the procedure to me. I also appreciate that patient safety is number one priority as he took the time to ask me about my medical history and any medications I take to decrease any possible risks associated with the procedure. One week after my chin was treated I noticed a significant result. I had some mild bruising after one week which disappeared after about 10 days postoperatively. It is now 6 months since my procedure and I don’t have any visible scars and the fullness I used to have is completely gone. I am no longer insecure about taking pictures from a profile angle. I am feeling so much more confident in my appearance and even look 5 years younger as a result of the procedure. I am so thankful I saw Dr. Stutman and would recommend him to others!

Dr. Stutman performed a facial procedure for me on an area that had been bothering for many years. Although I was always self conscious about it, I was unable to find a surgeon I trusted to do the work. Facial procedures are not something to take lightly. I wanted to be sure the doctor I chose would not only be an experienced surgeon but respected by both his peers and patients. When I met with him for the initial consultation I was comforted by his wealth of knowledge and also by his appreciation that I was nervous about the procedure. He was able to ease my anxiety and ensure I would be pleased with the aesthetic outcome. I am vary happy I was able to find Dr. Stutman.

“Very simple and easy surgery. I went back to work after 2 days. Best money ever spent! It took me back 10 years. I think I even look better now than I did in my 30’s. Dr. Stutman gave me curves and a nice round booty with the fat he took out around my upper/lower abs, flanks and waist. Would recommend to anyone.”
